Corey Tucker Obituary
He was born Sept. 11, 1988, in Petersburg, to Diana Marie Tucker of Petersburg and Garland Bennett Morton of Petersburg. Corey attended Petersburg Public Schools. He was employed at McDonald's in Colonial Heights as crew trainer.
Corey was a member of Faith & Hope Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Corey received Christ at an early age and rededicated his heart back to the Lord this year at Reconciliation Fellowship Church. He was raised by a village of people, was truly everybody's child and was loved by everyone. His unimaginable humor and smile is what attracted the love which will continue to live in all who knew and loved him. A fallen soldier who asked, "Please Pray For Me," in his passing will want continued prayers of love, peace and unity for all humanity.
Survived by a dear and loving Mother, Diana M. Tucker; his father, Garland B. Morton; two brothers, Ernest D. Tucker of Chesterfield and Kevin J. Munroe Jr. of Petersburg; one sister, Sherita R. Morton of Petersburg; one niece, K'ayMiah M. Hardy; two grandmothers, Irene E. Tucker and Carolyn J. Morton; one great-grandmother, Margaret H. Garrison; one grandfather, Garland B. Morton Sr.; three aunts, Bernice Dean (Robert), Irene Taylor (Edward) of Pennsylvania and a special aunt, Blossie Cheatham (Richard); four uncles, Bernard Tucker (Carolyn), Melvin Tucker (Marienne), Cornelius Tucker and Eric Tucker (Sandra) of Denver; a loyal Big Brother, Raymond Stein; a devoted godmother, Percenie Rich; two adopted aunts, Plug and T-Lee; godsisters, Ceneeka Rich, Krystal King, Terrica King; a very devoted buddy/brother, Farid Reid; special friends, Dominique Parrish and Karana Hicks; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Faith and Hope Temple Church of God in Christ, 1800 E. Washington St., Petersburg, Dr. Shirl Saunders officiating. The interment will be in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will assemble at the residence one hour prior to the service.
