Emily Lewis Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Oceal Lewis Nanny. She attended Smyrna Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewis was a caregiver for over 25 years to many.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Lewis Sr.; a daughter, Deborah L. Lewis of Dinwiddie; a son, James Edward Lewis Jr. and wife, Monica, of Shelby, N.C.; two grandchildren, Lexie and Brodie Lewis of Shelby, N.C.; two sisters, Ellen N. Hamilton and husband, Gene, of Dinwiddie, and Virginia McDowell of Richmond; one brother, William E. Glass of Hopewell; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with the Rev. Robert L. Rowland III officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Flowers welcome or contributions may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 18725 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

MISS EMILY WAS SUCH A NICE LADY GIVING A SMILE TO EVERYONE. I NEW HER FROM WEEKLY VISITS AT LIBERTY WHERE SHE CAME WITH MR. NAPPA. SHE AND I OFTEN HAD BREAKFAST OR SHOPPED AS I WAITED FOR MY MOM TO FINISH HER TREATMENT. I WILL MISS HER. GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW.

Emily was one of my best friends, my hair dresser,enjoyed her sweet little children about 30yrs ago.I had moved away for 16yr,We moved back to Din about a year ago,,and this year I called her& talked a long time, I am 84 & my husband86 and she told me she would help look after us if we needed her.What sweet Lady has gone to be with the Lord.. Our prayer are to the family , James Sr, Debora, James Jr& rest of family. With our love- Etta & william Bishop
