Franklin D. Roosevelt Wyche Sr.

Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt Wyche, Sr. of 100 Kippax Place Apt. 210, Hopewell, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 31, 1931, to the late Helen and Jesse Wyche. He attended the public schools of Hopewell, had worked as a brick mason and was an employee at Allied Chemical Company Hopewell A Plant. He also worked at the Hopewell Medical Center. He was a former member of the Sunlight Elks Lodge and attended Mount Carmel and Union Baptist church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers Jesse Jr., Ernest and Arthur Wyche and his companion Doris Richardson.

Surviving are three sons, Franklin Wyche Jr. (Patricia), Reginald Wyche (Rhonda) and Donald Wyche (Lucy); three daughters, Denise Patterson (Dave), Soncee Montell (Thomas) and Linda Byrd; a brother, Elbert Wyche, Sr. (Barbara); two sisters, Mary E. McCray and Ernestine Marsh; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends among the friends devoted were: Paul Warren, Judge Kenny Nye, Dr. Lee Weathington, Frances Washington, Karen Ellis, Nathan Miles, Sr. (Brenda), Charlene Worthan, Ronell Jones and Donielle Medina.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, from the Chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell. The Rev. Robert Barnes will officiate. The family will assemble at the funeral home 12:30 p.m. on the day of service.
