Margaret Marek Obituary

Margaret Fenderson Marek, 94, died on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace G. and Emma Marie Fenderson; husband, George Roosevelt Marek; and eight siblings. She was a member of Smith's Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon M. Melson and husband, Orvin, of Hampton, Va.; grandson, Dr. Mark R. Melson and his wife, Martha of Nashville, Tenn.; great- grandchildren, Jackson Melson and Julia Margaret Melson; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & son Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

The family wants to thank the staff of Colonial Heights Health Care Center for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Smith's Grove United Methodist Church. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
