Rosa May Obituary

Rosa Ann May, of Sussex Drive, Stony Creek, Va., was born April 15, 1952, to the late Catherine and Bennie Taylor of Stony Creek, Va. On Thursday morning, Dec. 10, 2009, she was called home to her eternal rest.

Rosa was educated in the Sussex County Public School System. She worked for Sussex County for 15 years. Rosa will be missed dearly by everyone who loved her as a person. Her mother, Catherine M. Taylor, and stepfather, Bennie Taylor, preceded her in death.

Surviving to cherish her memories are: Katrina Pearson (Eric) of Valentines, Va., Conteshia Matthews of Griffin, Ga., and Betrina Taylor of Stony Creek, Va.; three brothers, Melvin Taylor of Petersburg, Va., Thomas May (Burnette) of Washington, D.C., and Sam Taylor of Baltimore; four sisters, Anna White (Willie) of Stony Creek, Va., Dianne Taylor of Carson, Va., Gracie Givens (Jerome) of Waverly, Va., and Beatrice Taylor of Stony Creek, Va.; she also leaves to cherish her memories three grandchildren, Malik, Amani and Tylik; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral service for Ms. May will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Galilee Baptist Church 12392 Lee Ave., Stony Creek, Va., with the Rev. Linwood James, pastor, eulogizing. Interment will follow immediately in the Caple-Robb Family Cemetery, Stony Creek, Va. Funeral services have been entrusted to Jones-Peace Funeral Service, 13013 Park Ave., Stony Creek, Va., (434) 246-3171. Family may be contacted at (434) 447-9161.
