Every time I go into Costco I think of my sweet friend Val. We met in the chemo room and she was always an encouragement to me. I would love to know how Christian is doing.

Mrs.Lanier, we were sadden to hear of the death of Val. We met her through our daughter, Rhonda, several years ago when they both lived at Hollypoint in Cheseapeak, VA. We met her again as our daughter registered her daughter BreAnna and Val registered Christan at Chowan University. She was such a lovely young lady and really loved her son. You are in our prayers Christan. Remember your mother loved you and cherish that memory by living a good life, finish college and do well. She will always be with you.We were sorry to have missed the service but we found out today of her death. (11/16/10) God,s continued blessings on each of you.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Joseph and Lanier family. God is truly and awesome God and he never makes a mistake. Valerie was so nice and sweet. Her smile would light up a room. She lives in all our hearts and minds and she is at peace now. Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. Be blessed and always know God is in control.

Valerie touched so many with her beautiful smile. She always had an encouraging word and was faithful in her christian walk. I always felt the Spirit of God in her presence. I know she is rejoicing in heaven and though she is missed here on earth, know that we will see her again and rejoice with her in heaven. God keep and bless the family in your time of sadness.

Valerie, you looked beautiful for your home going. All dressed up and ready to meet our Lord and Savior. You looked so peaceful and at rest, almost like you were taking a nap. I will truly miss you my BFF but I take comfort in knowing that you can finally rest. You fought your battle for so long. I remember you telling me that you asked God to just allow you to see that Christian was able to fly with his own wings and being the awesome God that we serve He he allowed you to do that. You can rest in peace my friend because you have raised Christian in the way that he should go and he knows the Lord. He can fly with his own wings now. He has many family and friends who will be there for him, myself included. Rest my friend and know that your son will be fine.

My sincere condolence go to the family, we have lost an angel that was here on earth.

Valerie, you were the sweetest person I've ever known. I'm so proud and thankful to God for allowing you to be a part of my life. I will miss you so but I am comforted by the fact that you are now at peace with our Father in Heaven. You fought that battle for so long. I know you did it for Christian. You asked God to allow you the time to get him prepared to fly with his own wings and He allowed you to do just that. Rest now my friend knowing that Christian is ready to fly on his own because of how well grounded you raised him. He knows the Lord. I miss you but I know we will meet again. Rest now.

My condolences to the Lanier and Joseph families. I thank God for letting me know Val for 9 years. I will miss seeing her smile while we shared our "proud mom moments". There were days at work when I knew she wasn't feeling well, yet she never complained. God called her home because he knew she was tired. Thank you my friend, for always being you.

God be with you and your family Christian. I met your mother when I first transferred to Petersburg High. Being new there she treated me as if she grew up with me. Just a mention of her name I can picture her face and our conversation of what we were giong to do after graduation. Our paths went in different directions but crossed later. She's the nicest person I know. She was an Angel on earth and now she is God's Angel in Heaven. You are in my heart Christian with all the blessings God bestowed upon us all having the chance of knowing your beautiful mother.
God Bless.....
