Virginia Moore Obituary

Virginia Ryder Moore, 90, of Colonial Heights, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Clinton and Agness Fesenmaier Ryder and the widow of James Thomas Moore.

Virginia was a member of American Legion Post 284 Ladies Auxiliary, Colonial Heights Senior Citizens Club, and St. Ann Catholic Church in Colonial Heights.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Moore Doran and husband, Michael Sale Doran of Colonial Heights, James Clinton Moore and wife, Sandra H. Moore of Colonial Heights, Mary Moore Patterson of Chesterfield, Thomas Richard Moore and wife, Kathy H. Moore of Marietta, Ga.; Ralph David Moore and wife, Marion S. Moore of Prince George, Melanie Ann Moore of Colonial Heights, Linwood Andrews Moore and wife, Rose B. Moore of Colonial Heights, Charles Wayne Moore and wife, Patty J. Moore of Prince George; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; twin sister, Elizabeth Ryder McCarthy and husband William McCarthy of Bristol, R.I.; sister- in-law, Iris B. Ryder of Chesterfield.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jeff Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Petersburg, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday Dec. 13, 2009, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.

Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
