Beatrice Lawson Obituary

LAWSON, BEATRICE M., 111, died Monday at the Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Arthur L. Lawson. Born in Boston a daughter of the late Prince and Cornelia (Nichols) Reid, she was a lifelong resident of Providence. Beatrice worked for the city of Providence for many years. She was an active and the oldest member of the Cathedral of St. John's in Providence and a member of ECW at the church. She leaves 3 daughters; Emogene Smith of Cranston, Althea Gonzalez and Theresa Burton both of Providence, a son: Richard Lawson of Providence, 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren and a cousin Josephine Worrell of Boston. She was mother of the late Josephine Lawson and Alice Page. The funeral will be held on Friday with visitation at the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence beginning at 11AM followed by a service at 1pm in St. John's Cathedral, 271 North Main St., Providence. Burial will be in North Burial Ground. Donations in her memory may be made to St. John's Cathedral. Condolences may be left at monahandrabblesherman.com
