Robert W. Dean

Robert W. Dean CHAMBERSBURG Robert "Rob" W. Dean, 54, died September 23, 2014. Born June 29, 1960, he was the son of Thelma L. Howell of Upton and the late Charles W. Dean, Jr. Also his father, the late Robert H. Howell. Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Joshua W. Dean of Oregon; two sisters, Deborah Mose, Mercersburg, the late JoAnn Dean; two brothers, Stanley H. Howell, Halifer and Mark E. Howell, San Francisco, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces; great-nephews; and a great friend whom he lived with, Helen Shafer. Robert went to James Buchanan High School. He was in the Army, then got his CDL license and drove trucks for many years. He was a collector of many things and always had a deal for you. Marbles was one he greatly loved. He could find them anywhere and know what to look for. The special ones he would give as gifts to his family and friends. He will be missed by his family and friends. There will be a graveside memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
