CHAMBERSBURG
Wendell McLaughlin, age 79, passed away March 8, 2016, at home. He was born March 16, 1936, in Framingham, MA to Wendell and Iris (Guthrie) McLaughlin Sr. He was married to Elaine Tunnecliffe McLaughlin on July 24, 1975. Wendell had been a Captain for US Air for 25 years and after retirement he was a Captain of a Charter Fishing Boat that he owned in Palmetto, FL. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years from 1954-1958. He and his wife attended King Street United Brethren Church. After his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively in their motor home.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elaine F. Tunnecliffe McLaughlin, and their seven children, Mark McLaughlin of Allentown, Wendy (wife of Norman) Nischan of Allentown, Marguerite (wife of Carl )Mann Jr. of Lehighton, PA, Tony (husband of Carla) Bonfanti of Pittsburgh, Timmy (companion of Darla) Bonfanti of Burgerttstown, PA, Todd (husband of Pennie) Bonfanti of Garner, NC, and Tina (wife of Peter) Maurer of New Orleans. He has 15 grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service Saturday at 2 PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg, with Rev. Les Stine officiating. They will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittburgh, PA 15219.
