Cecelia Acuna

Cecelia Acuna, a life-long resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008 surrounded by her family in Torrance. Born in Artesia, CA, Cecelia was 79 when she died. Cecelia lived a full life and worked in the restaurant, retail and aerospace business. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed many hobbies, loved to cook, but most of all was a loving mother, sister, grandparent, aunt and friend. She is survived by her son, Patrick Acuna of Hermosa Beach, CA; daughter, Rosanna (Eric) Vanderslice of Garden Grove, CA; daughter, Kathryn Acuna (Brian Blome) of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Laura Lange of Hawthorne, CA; brother, Manuel Corrales of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Pat (Mary) Corrales of Fallbrook, CA; sister, Lydia (Larry) Piatt of Diamond Springs, CA; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmella Trujillo and Charles Corrales; daughter, Dianna Hurst; granddaughter, Julie; and husband of 28 years, Manuel S. Acuna. A Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Saturday December 20, 2008 at 1pm followed by a Reception in the Lighthouse Room. Burial will be private.
