Mabel Wright Obituary

RAPID CITY - Mabel R. Wright, 77, Rapid City, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospice House. She was born June 24, 1933, to Fred and Maude (Blakesley) Huntley at Trout Lake, Mich.

Mabel married Billie R. Wright May 9, 1953, near Traverse City, Mich. She was active in the Rapid City Club for Boys since 1973. She enjoyed baking, cooking, spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Mabel is survived by three daughters, Linda Oliver, Mountain Home, Ark., and Ruth Huber and Dorcas Hern, both of Rapid City; five sons, James Wright, Odessa, Texas, William Wright, Rapid City, Willard Wright, Tucson, Ariz., and Melvin Wright and Kenneth Wright, both of Rapid City; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie R. Wright, on May 6, 2007; two sisters; and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday April 27, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday April 28, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home with Dave Oyler officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
