Josephine Neuheisel Obituary

BELLE FOURCHE - Josephine Frances (Balster) Neuheisel, 84, Belle Fourche, died peacefully with her family present, Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Spearfish Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Josephine was born May 30, 1926, to Joseph Charles Balster and Engeline "Lena" Catherine (Schoo) Balster at Iona, Minn. Josephine married William Neuheisel on Feb. 11, 1953, at Iona. She loved entertaining her family and friends by singing and playing the piano.

Thank you for all the loving care given at the Herried Good Samaritan Center and the Belle Fourche Senior Care Center.

Josephine is survived by her children, Jan Goodsell (Carrol) of Spearfish, Julie Rosen of Duluth, Minn., Donna (Matthew) Schurger of Windsor, Colo., Joseph Neuheisel of Zap, N.D., John Neuheisel of Casselton, N.D., Mary Geiger of Lusk, Wyo., and Alice (Steve) Meier of Bismarck, N.D.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., with 7 p.m. vigil services today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 844 N. Fifth St., Spearfish.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Spearfish.
