Annetta Williams Obituary

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -Annetta Rae (Miller) Williams, 50, a mother, wife and botanist, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at her home from breast cancer.

Annetta was born July 6, 1960, in Rapid City, S.D. She was raised and educated in Rapid City and attended Rapid City Central High School, South Dakota State University at Brookings, S.D., and earned a B.S in Environmental Management with minors in math and physics.

Annetta devoted herself to serving the Great Falls Rescue Mission most recently, and had, at one time, worked in all the following; school bus driver, florist, school teacher, butcher, youth counselor, real estate agent and art gallery owner. Most of all she was an extraordinary human being, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend. She was a courageous and beautiful spirit who lived for the Lord and her loved ones. The best friend we ever had, loved by all whose lives she touched.

She enjoyed tatting, knitting, Bible study, bowling, antique shopping, garage sales and flower arranging.

Survivors include her husband, Brian James Williams, and her daughter, Samantha Rae Williams, and son, Jacob Brian Williams, all of Great Falls; her parents, Ray and Dorothy Miller, Warsaw, Mo.; two sisters, Karen Maver, Rapid City, and Dawn Hagan, Clinton, Mo.; and a brother, Jim Miller, Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by Grace Olson, Fay Schmidt and family, and Nikki Anderson and family, all of Minneapolis, and Arthur Merde and family of Fort Mills, S.C.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday May 16, at Crossroads Memorial Church.

Dearest Sam. My heart aches for the loss you've suffered. Remembering the stories you wrote in English classes of family fun times made a lasting impression on me not only for your linquistic ability, but for the love that came across so clearly in your words. Your mother must have been a stellar role model for you in every way as you were a very, very special young lady even way back in sixth grade. To lose your mother while so young is a terrible tragedy, but I'm confident that with the time you had together, she has helped make you a very strong young woman. She will be with you always, and I know the memories you have of her will sustain you in these darkest times and bring you much joy when you share stories of her with your children. With deepest affection, Mary Hoffman

Samantha, I was sorry to learn of your mother's passing. Janelle has kept me informed as to the progress with all the treatments and with your life as well. I know your mother was a source of strength, joy, and enlightenment for you. I appreciate the photo you selected as the smile shows your mother's absolute inner and outer beauty. Having you as a student in sixth grade was delightful since you were one of those intelligent, giving, and kind people all teachers enjoy and remember. Your mother gave you a strong foundation, her enthusiasm, and so much more that will be revealed in and about you over time. I am truly sorry for your loss. Kay L. Munson
