Marilyn Mutter Obituary

FULTON, Ill. - Marilyn J. Mutter, 73, Fulton, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Marilyn was born Dec. 22, 1937, at Woonsocket, S.D., to Delbert W. and Alice E. (Woodward) Reed. She was educated in the Woonsocket grade schools and graduated from Pierre (S.D.) High School. She then attended St. John's-McNamara School of Nursing in Rapid City, S.D. She married Fred H. Mutter Sr. on Feb. 14, 1957, in Rapid City. Fred passed away May 8, 2001.

Marilyn was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Granbury, Texas; and a member of the Women of the Moose in Rapid City.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Buck, Moorcroft, Wyo.; three sons, Fred H. (Sherry)

Mutter Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., Lawrence R. (Judy) Mutter, Naples, Fla., and Thomas R. Mutter, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Jackie (Lyle) Carson, Hay Springs, Neb., and Karen Hegre, Rapid City; a brother, Richard Reed, Alma, Ark.; and her loving companion, Kenny Bielema, Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister, Connie Lou Reed.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.

Memorials may be directed to the Primary Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
