He was the husband of Jennie Nora (McGettigan) Manegold.
Manegold was born in Reading, PA. He was the son of the late William Manegold and the late Naomi (Livers) Manegold.
He was employed as a mechanic at BARTA Bus Transportation, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish Roman Catholic Church, Reading. He was enlisted in the Army in World War II.
Surviving along with his wife is one son, Joseph J., husband of Lynda Manegold of Amity Township; two grandchildren: David, husband of Naomi Manegold of Mt. Penn and Melissa, wife of Jason Van Aalsberg of Portland, Oregon; three great-grandchildren: Claire, Grace, and Dylan. He was predeceased by one brother, John Manegold; four sisters: Grace Clark, Mary Jane McTighe, Anna Brailer, Betty Dzondelet; and one grandson, Matthew Manegold.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery at the Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA.
Inurnment in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joseph Parish Roman Catholic Church, 1018 N. 8th St., Reading, PA 19604. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, PA, is in charge of the arrangements.
