I new her as "Auntie Dorie" my whole life, since she was one of my mom's best friends. We always looked forward to seeing her, although it wasn't too often, due to where she lived. She always made us feel like we were the most important person in the world, and would listen for however long we were willing to talk. She was the best!

It was, indeed, a special honor to be a part of celebrating the life of my precious and dear friend of 60 years, Dorie Barron. We were very close, along with our families, throughout the years. I'm so delighted for her to be with her extended family in Heaven, but her loss leaves a vacancy in my heart that only she could fill. She was very talented on the vibraharp and considered it her ministry to the Lord. She was such a loving blessing to everyone with her cheery and bright smile and words of encouragement. She always called me her Baby Doll even though I was a year older that she. I long to dial her telephone number and chat as we did so often, but we'll have all eternity to continue our coveted conversations. My prayers continue for you, Nick, Rick, and Walt together with your families. May God bring you close together as a family as I know Dorie so longed to experience.
Love and hugs,
Fernie

After Al and I met Dorrie the first time in church, we were fast friends. We learned they had a Model A and belonged to the Club, so, at their invitation, we started going to the Model A Club meetings. Dorrie was the "Sunshine Girl", of the club, and she did truly beam, she made it fun to be there. She was so proud of their Model A and so enjoyed it. That was Dorrie, she lit up everything around her. We enjoyed her vibraharp, it added that special something to the to the worship. She was proud of her years of being a nurse and had some interesting stories to tell. We will miss her so much, and are praying for you Nick, and your family. we met some of them and enjoyed visiting with them. God Bless you, Al and Joyce Augenstein

What a great joy this precious beautiful lady was and IS. All one had to do was see our very populated sanctuary to understand how deeply our love is for her and Nick. One of my fondest memories is of her chattering away at me while she and I were both playing Prelude or for Worship Team. I use to tease her about being vaccinated with a phonograph needle just as my dad used to me. Another is of her twirling around for me to "inspect" her to make sure she looked good and that her colors matched well. If we happened to wear the same color, my goodness she would get excited! Having just met her a little over a year ago I didn't have the honor of having years of history, but we made up for it in our own little corner by the organ. All our love, Dawn & Jim

Dorie loved to participate in worship music. For many years she sang in her church’s choir. Her Vibraharp playing was as creative as it was beautiful. Even when she was not feeling well she still made music unto The Lord. She was generous and loving. I’m sure that she is still making divine music as unto The Lord, now, even as I write this! We are looking forward to seeing her again and to making worship music together forever!

I never meet anyone like Dorie, shes kind, loving and giving. I admired her for her strength, courage and her will for not giving up on the things that meant the most to her. I thought of her as my grandmother and my friend. I miss her so. She will forever be in my heart.

Dorie was such a loving person and she always had a bright smile on her face. Pratically everytime she saw me he said" I love you". Several years ago, when I was new to Lakeport Christian Center, she would always say" come sit by us". We will miss Dorie very much, but we can rejoice because she is with the Father and we will see her again. Nick, my prayer for you and your family is that God will provide you strength during this difficult time.

What a dear and precious, loyal friend! She called me long distance a few days before her homegoing and wanted me to know just how much she loved me! She was such a blessing to me personally! She and Saint Nick were so very special to me. I loved pastoring these two delight friends! Dorie always had a beaming smile and a word about her love for the Lord and her friends and family. Heaven is a dearer place because it holds our Dorie! I have a feeling that Jesus has a vibraharp for her to play! Nick, I love you, too!

I have known Dorie for about 20 years. We played music together in church and I enjoyed singing when she played the vibraharp. She was so full of life and love and accepted people for who they are. She loved Jesus and was always giving Him the glory for her life. She was a very giving person. The relationship I had with her was that of a mother and daughter - she always said I was the daughter that the Lord gave her. I will miss her words of wisdom, her laughter, her love, her hugs, her stories, and herself. She was a very very special person to me and I will always remember and honor her for who she was and how she touched my life. I love you Dorie and will miss you very much.

Dorie was a very special friend. She had a tremendous capacity for
love and laughter. She was fiercely devoted to her Lord, family and friends and so loved to be with them.
She was very talented on the vibraharp despite having only a few
lessons. It was an honor to play music with her. We will all miss her very much.
