I am very sorry to read that Julian Tencza had passed away.
This is very sad news.
It is very enriching for me to know that I knew him and I had
flown with him for quite a while. I've learned from him lots and lots of
skills and practices that he collected during his life as an Air Force Officer,
pilot and - at least of same importance - humanist. (I remember his stories
about him flying missions in Germany. He never talked bad about the
German soldiers! He kept expressing his esteem for them which showed me
in turn what a great character he was.)
He was the one who helped me to master the commercial check ride.
I'm very grateful for being allowed to know him.
Please if you get a chance forward my sympathy to Julian's family even
tho I never got in personal contact with his family.
Best regards,
Rolf Gerstner

To Julie's Family;
You all have my most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your father. He was a friend of mine for the past twenty five years. We made many flights together and when my father would join us they would talk about their days in the Army. Julie was extremely influential in teaching many people to learn to become a pilot.He was the best around and I feel honored to be the recipient of his knowledge that imparted on me. He was a lot of fun out of the airplane too, we shared boatloads of laughs on many topics. Over the course of his lifetime in aviation I believe his number of students are in the thousands. He was a huge part of our local aviation community for many years. I am sad to have him leave us, but he has gone to a better place and will be at peace.
Rest in peace my friend! Rest in peace.
