Thomas Ravizza Obituary
Born on June 28, 1925, in New Britain to Joseph and Sophie (Birmingham) Ravizza, Tom lived in Meriden from the age of four until his passing at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Tom graduated from St. Joseph School in 1940, and attended Meriden High School. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in 1991 after 33 years working there. Tom was like the mayor of Melville Avenue where he and Jenny resided since 1978, and after her passing in 2004 many of his neighbors cared for him, and looked forward to visits during his daily walks through the neighborhood, especially Anna and Andrea.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory Ravizza and his wife, Terry, of Durham, and Tom Ravizza, and Maria Gargamelli, of Branford. He was the loving grandfather of Gabriel Ravizza, Jessica Cartier and her husband, Chad, Lindsey Ravizza and her husband, Mike Meyer, and Danny Ravizza. Also known as great-grand poppy to Sophia, Talia and Cassandra Tamsin. He was also uncle to Jenny's many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his mother, Sophie; aunt, Louise Birmingham; his uncles, Walter and Joe Birmingham; and his wife, Mary. He is survived by his cousin, Meryl Anziano.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 22 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. There are no calling hours. For online condolences please visit www.jferryfh.com.

I will always remember him walking around Melville I often stopped with Oscar and he would love petting him and chatting. may he rest in peace. he will be missed.
