Walter Dortch Jr.

November 24, 1938 - January 5, 2011

Walter Dortch Jr. was born to Walter Dortch Sr. and Rosie B. Phillips, in Moscow, MS.

Walter Dortch moved to Redding, CA in 1988. Walter and Margie A. Donald were married in Anderson, CA in 1994. He co-founder of St. Marks Missionary Baptist Church in 1997.

His memory will be cherished by his wife Margie of Anderson, CA, sons; Rodney (LaShawn), Jeff (Vicky), daughter Mia (Paris), step children; Mareshia "Resi" (Joe) LaMarr Donald Jr. (Cynthia), 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters, brothers Lloyd (Jessie), Kenneth (Earnestine), Lionell (Gloria), Bobby, Charles, and Jerome, sisters Christina, Vera, Brenda and Melissa.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brother L.C., sister Bobbie Anne and daughter Rhonda.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday January 13, 2011 at
McDonald's Chapel 1275 Continental St., Redding, CA. 96001,

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday January 14, 2011 at McDonald's Chapel.

Repast: Second Baptist Church 2560 Bunker Avenue, Redding, CA 96002.

Dear Dad, thanks for all the fun laughs and good times you brought to the Daniels/Dortch family. Year after year, as all would agree, at Christmas, New years, birthdays or just random get togethers no one brought the laughs quite like you..LOL. And even as a little boy, I still remember walkin in to Calvin and Beverly`s, Eddie and Ora`s, Eugene and Ann`s, Donald and Nelly`s, Jimmy Lowe "Nims"(LoL)with u behind, they all asked "WHERE WALTER" Cuz you and Jimmy Lowe together (LOL)!! Guaranteed Laughs. If they weren`t partyin in Heaven, they are now.
