Jean Barnwell Obituary
Jean Marie Barnwell passed away peacefully with her family by her side
on October 28, 2010.
Born in Coquille, Oregon, on November 8, 1937,
Jean was the only child of Benjamin (Papa) and Mae (Nana) Shoemaker.
She was married to Gordon Barnwell on August 31, 1962
until his passing in October, 2000.
Jean lived much of her adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area, being a wife and mom, before retiring to the Redding, California area. Jean and Papa eventually relocated to Sweet Home, Oregon in 2003. They enjoyed many years of the RV lifestyle and visited many parts of the United States and Mexico. She enjoyed ceramics, photography, painting and the great outdoors.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Gordon and her mother and father.
She is survived by her son Ben and his wife Ginger of Vancouver, WA, her daughter Elizabeth (Beeson) and her husband Dan of Lynden, WA, and 4 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the ALS Association. www.alsa.org 1-888-949-2577

A blessing to any community, Jean Barnwell you were a dear woman and will be terribly missed by all who knew you. I can hear Heaven's refrain: "Welcome home, good and faithful servant."
