Vickie Lane Obituary

Vickie Lane

April 25, 1955 - December 18, 2010

Vickie Lane passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center in Redding after a courageous battle with leukemia. Vickie was born in Caldwell, Idaho to Keith and Dona Lane.

She graduated from Adrian High School (Adrian, Oregon) in 1973. She attended college at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, OR and then onto Boise State University in Boise, ID where she received a degree in English.

She is survived by her siblings Teri Lane, Ontario, OR, Jim Lane, Anderson, CA, Cheryl Lane, Tualatin, OR, and Patty Friesen, Redding, CA.

Vickie moved to Boulder in 1977 and worked for many years in downtown Boulder both at First National Bank (now Bank One) and as an insides sales representative at the Daily Camera in the Classified Call Center for 16 years…. She was the loyal, red haired sage of the Classified Dept. She had many, many long time customers who loved her and appreciated the care she took with them. Vickie embodied the values that have kept the Daily Camera at the heart of our community. She never missed a book sale, never saw an animal (or a pair of shoes) she didn't love, her sense of humor and wit kept her coworkers amused and grateful to have known her and work with her. Vickie was known to read up to 5 books a week and had a special gift for, and love of writing. But there was nothing she loved more than animals, big and small. She provided a loving home to more than a few lucky cats over the years.
She will be dearly missed.
