Dan Cranfill Obituary

Dan Cranfill, 60, of Redding died at home Saturday,
October 3, 2009 of cancer. Dan was born September. 23, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a log scaler.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karen; brother Michael and sister Ona; son Dan and daughter-in-law Stacey; sons Sol, Josh and Jon; daughter Amber and son-in-law Jason; daughter April and son-in-law Ben; and grandchildren Gage, Kian, Mark, Maya, Savannah, Chloee and Brayden.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 11 at Anderson-Cottonwood Neighborhood Church at 4684 Rhonda Road in Anderson, CA.
Throughout his life Dan was a surfer, a guitar player, a hunter, a skydiver, a golfer, and got a lot out of life. But above all, he loved Jesus Christ, and existed to live as a witness for Him.
We celebrate his life: his ever present sense of humor, equally present wit, sacrifice providing for his family, his profound understanding of the Bible, his eager approach to life, his sharing of what he knew with others, his willingness to listen deeply to what people had to say.
Dan was deeply committed to the Lord and trusted in Him. He said God never let him down, raising six children in an unstable industry, yet never being in need. Dan made an enormous impact on the people around him. Memories of him will be held in our hearts.
Contributions in memory of Dan Cranfill can be sent to help orphans in Africa at Hope Alive! in care of WorldVenture, 1501 West Mineral Ave, Littleton, CO. 80120.

I love you Dan. You were amazing in your days of handling cancer. You were kind and cheerful and gave all of us your love from a sickbed. Jesus loved us all the way through. How could we have handled this time of dying without the Lord? Did I say 'dying'? Actually, you just moved to God's House, because of the cross. Love for ever, I will see you in heaven, Karen

Several years ago Danny C. and I went down to Sacramento to take a lesson from a renowned NATURAL GOLF guru. When the lesson was over the teacher offered the opinion that neither of us showed much promise as golfers. Over the years our paths crossed happily and we had to admit he was right. May every hole be a birdie at that most glorious course, old chum.
