Steven Rouse Obituary

Steven Joseph Rouse

Steven Joseph Rouse, 22, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3pm at Greenville Church of God. Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8pm at Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.

Steven, a lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a 2012 graduate of JH Rose High School and attended Pitt Community College. He was a very kind, gentle soul who loved people, trying to find the good in everyone. He was a bright young man with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism, who had high aspirations of becoming an orthopedic doctor. He will be deeply and forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bruce Rouse; paternal grandfather, John Bradley; and a dear family friend, Scott Leonard Hathaway.

Steven is survived by his mother and best friend, Portia Rouse of Kinston; father, John Bradley and wife Jenny of Summerville, SC; stepfather, Marcole Felton of Greenville; baby brother, Marcole Alexander Felton; sister, Athena Avalon Dean; maternal grandmother, Peggy Rouse of Greenville; paternal grandmother, Marie Shaw; uncles, Bruce Rouse, Jr. and wife, Leeann, Errol Bradley, and Andrew Yannucci; aunts, Valerie, Stephanie, and Lindsay Rouse, cousins, Brianna Filiberto and Joslyn Rouse; and closest childhood friends, Kenzie and Jessica Bryant, and Mishii Gatlin.

Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses, 605 Country Club Dr, Greenville, NC 27834.
