Albert Mosley Obituary

Albert Northcutt Mosley, Jr. passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2015. His spirit will live on forever. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 27, at 1:30 pm at The Farmville Christian Church. Albert was the son of Lillian Freuler Mosley and Albert Northcutt Mosley, and was born on August 2, 1946, in Sequatechie County, Tennessee. Shortly after Alberts birth, the family moved to Farmville, North Carolina, the home of Alberts mothers family. A ferocious Red Devil and voted Most Versatile Albert graduated from Farmville High School and then earned a B.A. degree from Atlantic Christian College, where he received the prestigious Mr. Top Hat Award. Moving to Virginia, Albert earned a Masters of Education Supervision degree from Old Dominion University. His outgoing personality and natural leadership skills made Albert an integral part of many civic and business organizations culminating in his recognition as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1980. In the late 1980s Alberts love of the ocean lead him from Virginia to Avon, North Carolina, where he was the manager of Avon Thornton Limited Partnership until he decided it was Time To Go To Farmville and retire in 1995, where he has since been surrounded with family, friends and loved ones. Remaining family members who cherish the years they had with Albert are his son, Brian Mosley and wife, Erin Griffith-Mosley and their two daughters, McKenzie and Chloe; his sister Annette Alexander and husband, Bill Alexander; his sister Arlene Wilder and husband, Dan Wilder; his sisters Becky Avery and Donna Mosley; his brothers Grady Mosley and Chester Mosley; all of his nieces and nephews; as well as the two loves of his life Virginia Gwaltney Mosley and Linda Marks Mosley. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the many years of care from Dr. Steven Hamstead and nurse Marilyn Blalock and the associates at Farmville Physicians East; the crew at Best Value Drug, who so often delivered a Diet Pepsi with his medicine; the Farmville Rescue Squad, who literally picked him up when he was down; and recently Karen, Penny and all the caring nurses and aides at Pruitt Healthcare of Farmville, who made his last few weeks so comfortable. Alberts life was enriched by the caring ministrations of the members of The First Baptist Church of Farmville and The Farmville Christian Church, and especially from the love, prayers and assistance from his beloved Jarrett Dr. J Banks. Bro would like for us to remember him with that twinkling smile as he said, Peace Be With You, and would be so pleased if you would consider a donation to The First Baptist Church of Farmville, The Farmville Christian Church or the Farmville Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm and also briefly following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Online condolences may be at www.farmvillefh.com. What I remember the most about Albert was his smile. He was always a good friend to others and loved and cared for his family more than anyone I have ever known. When I think of my High School years being his friend was a great privilege . Judye Bleecker

Albert was my favorite teacher at Hunterdale. The year he taught me was the only year I didn't miss a day of school. He truly cared about his students and we knew it. He was a role model and one of the reasons I became a teacher.
Prayers of comfort to his family.
