BONSON, Ross Johnstone Mr. Ross Johnstone Bonson passed away in Hope, BC on May 29, 2011 at the age of 93 years. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Henrietta Bonson; brothers, Henry (Hank) and James H. Bonson; sister, Mysie Nelson; grandsons, Riley and Cary Martin; nephew, Leslie Nelson; and several half-nephews and nieces. Ross is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Eileen Frances Bonson; children, Carol (Bruce) Martin, Kenneth (Jeanine) Bonson and Anita (Doug) Bonson; grandchildren, Jamey (Roxayn) Martin, Dan (Allison) Bonson, John-Ross Bonson, Michael Bonson, Michele (Mike) Botel, Janice (Calvin) Thomas and Traci Payant; and 15 great-grandchildren. Ross worked for the Ministry of Transport for 24 years, the last 5 of those years being the Co-ordinator of Planning and Budgets at the Vancouver International Airport. He was a veteran of WWII as well as being a cabinet maker and specialist in fine carpentry. Ross was a loving family man who will be missed dearly. A Traditional Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at Mountainside Funeral Home Chapel, 1270 Ryder Street, Hope, BC with Reverend Ken Wotherspoon officiating. A Viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. prior to the Service. Burial will take place following the Service at Mountainview Cemetery, 65823 Kawkawa Lake Road, Hope, BC. A Reception will take place after the Burial at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 386 Fort Street, Hope, BC.
