Payten Vaughn Obituary
Cherokee
Payten Dewayne Vaughn, age 18 of Cherokee, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was born on October 19, 1993 in Abilene, Texas and attended Albany I.S.D. before moving to Cherokee where he was a senior at Cherokee High School. Payten was a member of the Cherokee F.F.A., played basketball, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked at odd jobs and at the Cherokee Feed Store. Payten enjoyed the youth group at First Baptist Church in Cherokee.
Payten is survived by his parents, Terry Vaughn and wife, Raven of Cherokee, Texas; two sisters, Holly Vaughn and Lory Vaughn of Cherokee, Texas; grandparents, Ronnie and Dianne Vaughn of Bowie, Texas; his great grandfather, A. F. Graham of Newport, Texas; two uncles, James Vaughn and wife, Linda of Albany, Texas, and Todd Vaughn and wife, Heather of Lubbock, Texas; and numerous friends and relatives. He is also survived by his mother, Genie Caldwell of Anson, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Payten Vaughn Memorial Scholarship Fund set up at Arrowhead Bank, 301 East Wallace in San Saba, Texas 76877. Services are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Chapel, of San Saba. Friends may sign the guestbook at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.

Payten taught me everything i know about hunting, fishing, anything in the shop class. He was like a big brother to me and i know that his is in a way better place, and im going to keep praying for you terry. love ya

I loved this kid with all my heart, and i cant wait to see his smile again. I will never forget when i came out to the house to target practice with his family. Thats when i knew i never wanted to let that family go. that is one of the best memories i have with Payten and his family and i will cherish it forever!

im so so sorry about payten ive known him since sixth grade and there wasn't a day that he didn't have a smile. he was a great friend and was like a brother. he was a great guy and he's gonna be missed the vaughn family is in my prayers
