Donald Lorenzetti Obituary

Donald Albert Lorenzetti, Sr., 69, of Verdi, NV, left us unexpectedly on January 23, 2011 at his home. He was born March 29, 1941 in Verdi to Josephine and Daniel Lorenzetti. He graduated from Reno High School in 1960. Donald devoted his career to the United Parcel Service, being one of the first seven hired in Reno, Nevada. He spent the majority of his career in the Truckee area, working for over 35 years for UPS. He loved hunting, trains, and Notre Dame, but his greatest passion was spending time with his three children and eight grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Tina Lorenzetti (Derek Nellmapius), two sons; Don (Kelly) Lorenzetti, Jr. and Gary (Jamie) Lorenzetti, both of Reno, and his cousin, Ronald Albert Starr.

The devotion our dad had for all of us will be forever in our hearts.

There will be a viewing at Walton Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd Street on Friday, January 28th from 4pm - 7pm. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6695 Mae Anne Ave, Reno. Private entombment will be held at Masonic Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, any donations can by made to the Verdi History Preservation Society.

Tina, Don and Gary, I was heart broken when I read the news on your Dad. I just saw him a few months ago at one of your Daughters Jr. High Basketball games and I hadn't seen him in over 20 yrs. After I told him I was the guy who hit the logging truck he remembered me right away. I have never met a person as genuine and sincere as your Father! I will always remember the white haired guy in the brown uniform, with the big smile on his face! We are truly sorry for you loss. - Rob and Kathy Collins (Ron and Vicky too)

Tina, Don, Gary and your families, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. What a wonderful man. We went to school with you guys in Truckee and your Dad was our UPS driver for many moons. Your dad had a beautiful smile and big heart. You all were his pride and joy. He loved talking about his family. You could tell how much love he had for all of you by the way his face would light up and his voice would get all excited when talking about you guys. You are in our thoughts and prayers. The Smith Family, Ramona, Robert & Jill, Donald & Christine, Brian & Erin, and Chuck & Lisa
