Philip Weaver Obituary

Philip Craig Weaver

Philip Craig Weaver, age 65, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Sparks, Nevada on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. He had suffered for 7 years from complications due to a heart virus.

Philip was born in Porterville, CA on September 4, 1945 to parents Jack L. Weaver, deceased, and Margie Weaver. Phil, as he liked to be called, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, with a degree as a registered pharmacist and was employed by Walgreen's prior to his illness. An avid fisherman, Phil was also proficient in woodworking and making stained glass windows. His green thumb led him to gardening fruits and vegetables in his backyard. He became known as The Jelly Maker, using his own home grown fruits. Phil's family knew him as the ideal grandfather with a dry sense of humor and a loving husband and father with a knack for procrastination. He left a loving long "Honey-Do-List" for his family to continue working on.

Phil is survived by his wife Ellen, son Michael, and granddaughter Jasmine Weaver of Sparks, NV, mother Margie and brother Jerry Weaver of Yucca Valley, CA., and brother Brian Weaver of Flint, MI.

A Celebration of Life was held for Phil at his residence on May 22, 2011, attended by his family, close friends and neighbors.

Phil will be remembered as a man who loved the Lord with all his heart, with all his mind, and with all his soul.

I remember Phil as a loving, caring and sharing individual. He shared some of his great strawberry plants with me that continue to thrive. He also shared his knowledge of worms for gardening with me (and some worms). I will always remember that. Ellen please accept my condolences in your loss. Sherry (nurse)
