Ray Allen Gandy Sr. passed away in his sleep after a battle with cancer on June 22, 2016, at the Rosewood Rehabilitation Center.

Ray leaves his wife of 42 years Margaret Ann (Moore) Gandy; his son, Ray Allen Gandy II and his wife Caroline Gandy; his daughter Sandra Rae Passi and her husband John Passi; brother James Gandy and his wife Barbara Gandy; granddaughter Lilly Zeledon, and three great-grandchildren and many close friends.

Born and raised in Southern California, the son of Lorene and James E Gandy, he was a long time resident of San Gabriel, California before moving to Sparks, Nevada in 2014 to live with his daughter.

Ray served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a Jet Aircraft Mechanic between 1957-1961. In 1961 Ray hired out with the Southern Pacific Railroad as Switchman and eventually becoming a Locomotive Engineer in the Los Angeles Division where he spent the remainder of his working days and retiring in 1994.

A military funeral service was held July 1st along with a private burial at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Fernley, NV.
