Cheryl Ellis Obituary

Cheryl Bowles Ellis, 66, of Wirtz, Va., went with the Angels to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Cheryl was born February 16, 1944. She dedicated her life to her family. Her heart and her door were always open. She will be sadly and greatly missed and remembered with much love and admiration. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Ellis; a very special nephew, Ricky Lee Carter. She is survived by her parents Claude Jesse and Melva Greer (Polly) Hodges, of Rocky Mount; her children, Brenda B. Davis and husband, Michael Wallace, of Rocky Mount, David W. Bowles and wife, Terri, of Rocky Mount, Brian K. Bowles and wife, Debra, of Wirtz; her grandchildren, Jason Bowles and Matthew Davis, both of Boones Mill, Bo Darren Bowles, of Rocky Mount, Rachel Davis, of Rocky Mount, and Kristianna Bowles of Wirtz; her greatgranddaughter, Montana F. Bowles, of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her brothers, Jesse David (Pap) Hodges and wife, Cathy, of Wirtz, Barry Wayne (Buzz) Hodges and wife, Nancy, of Glade Hill; sisters, Barbara Hodges Carter and husband, Roger, of Rocky Mount, Kimberlee Dawn Hodges, of Rocky Mount; five nieces, Cassandra (Sandy) Doss, Jeanette Mullins and husband, Mark, Laura Leigh Carter, Shanna Carter Smith and husband, Kyle, and Kelsey Lynn Hodges; very special friends, Dr. David Cummings, W.N. (Bill) Alexander and Donald K. Ranson; several great-nephews. Special thanks to Adult Home Health Care of Rocky Mount and Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke. Services will be private. To Cheryl's family: We are so sorry to hear about Cheryl. She was one of the best friends and people we have ever known with a heart that was way bigger than she was. She will never be forgotten by the love of her in our hearts. It is easy to remember some of the times we first got together with laughter and fun.
