Edith Brooks Obituary

Edith Altice Brooks, 93, of Rocky Mount, Va., passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010, at Franklin Healthcare. She was born on April 23, 1917, a daughter of the late George and Virginia Harrison Altice. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Woodrow Brooks; sisters, Eva Crook, Dorothy Altice, Clara Hall, Alice Hall, and Thelma Hunter; and brother, Claudie Altice. Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and other relatives. She was a seamstress for many years and an avid gardener. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, from Flora Funeral Chapel with Elder Junior Conner and Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Special thanks to the staff of Franklin Healthcare Center for their care and concern. I worked many years ago at K-Mart on Franklin Road and I always loved seeing Edith and her husband each time they came in the store.My sympathy to her family.
