Carmen Hodges Obituary

Carmen Delilah Ledbetter Hodges, 57, of 286 Ledbetter Road, Rocky Mount, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 5, 2010, at her home. She was born August 19, 1952, in Franklin County to the late James Garfield Ledbetter Sr., and Hestelle Amos Ledbetter. Delilah retired from Lane Furniture Company for over 30 years. She was a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jessie Wray, and Clifford "Pee Wee" Ledbetter. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, David Ronald Hodges, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty H. Cundiff and husband, Doug, of Bedford, Sharon Marie Barbour and husband, Chase, of Doe Run; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian Janie Murphy and husband, Bishop, of Snow Creek and Phyllis Marie Rigney and husband, Wayne, of Eden, N.C.; brothers, James Garfield Ledbetter Jr., of Callaway, Donald "Duck" Ledbetter, of Rocky Mount, and Arnold "Big Boy' Ledbetter, of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, David, Seth and Jace; special sister-in-law, Sib Wray, of Rocky Mount; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends of the family, Sandy A. Perdue, Debra Brown, Deborah Smith, and Susan Hodges. The family will receive friends at Glade Hill Baptist Church on Monday, June 7, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Glade Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Rigney and Pastor David Long officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Glade Hill Baptist Church Crusaders for Christ Sunday School Class, 6627 Colonial Turnpike, Glade Hill, Va. 24092. Arrangements are by Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett. Online condolences may be sent by going to www.collins mckeestonebassett.com.
