Kenneth Earl Dudley

Kenneth Earl Dudley, 82, of Salem, Va., passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, July 10, 2010. He was born in Roanoke, Va., on August 22, 1927, to the late William and Florence Dudley. Kenneth served in the United States Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Eva H. Dudley, of Salem, Va.; son, Jerome K. Dudley, of Maryland; daughters, Roslyn Dudley, of New York, and Dr. Carolyn Dudley Leatherwood (Thomas), of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; devoted sister, Irene Lewis, of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Jean Jones, of New York, and Barbara Dudley; devoted nephew, Ronald Hubbard (Carolyn), both of Roanoke; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff at 2 North Friendship Retirement Community and Financial Counselor, Mrs. Linda Blair, for their caring and dedicated service. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2010, in the HamlarCurtis Chapel with the Dr. Charles Calloway Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park.
