Elmer Lang Obituary

Elmer Montgomery (Bud) Lang, 77, of Christiansburg, Va., died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was born in Newport, Va. on June 20, 1932, to the late Charlie Lee and Anna Dowdy Lang. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha T. Lang; two sons, Donnie and Lonnie Lang. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Sue and Gary Bower and Peggy Ann and Todd King, all of Riner; son and daughter-inlaw, Dickie and Janie Montgomery Lang, of Christiansburg; eight grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Bud is going to fly high to be with his sweet bell. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Jones and the Rev. Steve Akers officiating. Interment will follow in the Dowdy Family Cemetery, Brush Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.

Connie, Dickie, and Peggy, I know you will miss Bud as much as myself. Not only was he my neighbor, he was my best friend . We have had alot of adventures together in the past, that I will always carry with me as fond memories.
