Eugene Cummings Obituary

Eugene Bruce Cummings, 71, of Roanoke, Va., died on Tuesday afternoon, June 8, 2010. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Raymond Cummins Sr. and Eleanor Evans Cummins; his daughter, Patty Jenkins; and his brothers, Teddy Leroy Cummins and Jack Cummings. He was a retired auto mechanic, was a big fan of NASCAR and enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed being around his family and friends. Surviving are his daughters, Diane Saltzberry and husband, Craig, of Center Cross, Va., Nancy Cummings, and Vanessa Edwards, both of Buena Vista, Va.; his son, Curtis Raymond Cummins, of Mississippi; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brothers, James Edward Cummins Sr., Harry Raymond Cummings Jr., and Fred Morris Cummins; and his sisters, Sue Grissette and Nancy Collins. A Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, in Roundaway Baptist Church Cemetery, Doddsville, Miss. Oakey's Roanoke Chapel and Crematory handling funeral arrangements.
