Our entire family is deeply saddened to have just learned of Karen's passing. She was a wonderful "big sister" growing up to me too. My parents loved asking her to babysit because Jessi, Bryan, and I would jump up with such glee and excitement when we heard that she and Sharon were coming to sit. While other sitters talked on the phone all night, the twins played with us, taught us the latest dance moves, and had us listen to the latest Beatles tunes. Karen was a vivacious, beautiful, and generous person. Our thoughts are with you and we will never lose the memory of the many wonderful years and great times that we all had with your family.
Lots of love from, Jo, Jessi, Bryan, and Betty.

Karen truly cared about people. She shared her knowledge freely and had the patient and the team's best interests when doing her job. She always took that extra effort to remember personal details. She loved her family and lived simply, finding pleasure in small things.....

I was so sorry to hear of Karen's passing. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with her although for such a short time. Karen was very welcoming to me when I came to work in the OR and always greeted me with a smile. I witnessed her many times sharing what she had with others - she was obviously a very caring person. She was a very hard worker and always very eager to do her job well. I know she will be missed by many!! My prayers go out to all of her friends and family. Thanks for everything Karen!!

Karen probably began her nursing career as my babysitter years ago when she was in high school. She was such a sweet, warm and caring person, that I always knew the children were safe with her. I have not seen her in years, but I do have the fondest of memories thinking about her.

As much as I loathed ortho at RMH, I always knew if Karen was scrubbed, anything the surgeon asked for would be in the room. And I always enjoyed our chats on the smoking block. My condolences to her family, and all her many friends. A deep hole is left by her passing.
