Henry Preston Caldwell Jr.

Henry Preston Caldwell Jr., 63, of Narrows, Va., passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Ruth Caldwell, of Craig County; and an infant son. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea. Henry retired from Verizon after 25 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Fran Caldwell; daughter, Tricia Jenkins, of Christiansburg, Va.; son, Preston Caldwell III, of Christiansburg, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Angie Caldwell, of Christiansburg, Va.; stepson, Duane Rakes, of Booneville, Miss.; sister and brother-inlaw, Judith and George Ayers, of Craig County; sisters-inlaw, Belle Warner, of Narrows, Va., and Lucille Pruitt, of Narrows, Va.; brother-in-law, Mickey Suratt, of Fincastle, Va.; special nieces, little Belle, of Narrows, Va., and Bina Neal, of Narrows, Va.; grandchildren, Caedmon, Petra, Liviya Caldwell, and Nathan Jenkins, of Christiansburg, Va.; step granddaughter, Shanna Rakes, of Narrows, Va.; aunt, Margaret Estes, of Salem, Va.; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and family whom he loved. Funeral arrangements will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Gravel Hill Christian Church, New Castle. Interment will follow at the Caldwell Cemetery.
