Paul Doughton Obituary

Paul Linwood Doughton, 79, of Rocky Mount, Va., died on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Erie Doughton; wife, Margaret Babb Doughton; and his son, Christopher Doughton. Paul was a loving father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. He was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Marines. Surviving are his children, Patricia Elliott, of Dallas, Texas, Michelle (Frank) Camp, of Appomattox, Donna Doughton, of Martinsville, Samone Doughton and fiance, Joey Setzer, of Edenton, N.C.; son, Paul A. (Tanjie) Doughton, of Ferrum; grandchildren, James (Faith) Elliott, Courtney Camp, Mac Camp, Michael Camp, Bryann Camp, Tracie (Dewey) Radford, Joey (Michelle) Pruitt, Travis Pruitt, Barry Davis, Ryan LynchDoughton, Amanda Doughton, Anna Doughton; 16 greatgrandchildren; brother, Charlie (Mildred) Doughton, of Georgia; and sister, Edna (Jack) Wallace, of Florida. Also surviving are his special caregivers and friends, Sherrie Perez and Linda Rymanski. Memorial services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, June 26, 2010, from Furnace Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Lawhorn and the Rev. David Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Furnace Creek Baptist Church, 975 Scuffling Hill Road, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and also at the family home, 55 Highview Terrace, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Paul was like a second Father to me. I am very saddened to hear of his passing, but find joy in knowing that he is once again with his lovely wife and son who passed before him.
