Nellie Lucas Hatcher Mullins

Nellie Lucas Hatcher Mullins, 93, of Vinton, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 17, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Pearl Bolton Lucas; son and daughterin-law, John E. Hatcher and Phyllis Helms Hatcher; brothers, Clinton, Walter, Leslie and Dennis Lucas; sisters, Edith Caldwell, Gladys Caldwell, Hazel Winstead; and her husbands, John H. Hatcher and Allen J. Mullins. She was a member of Garden City Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Doretha H. and Fred H. Holley Jr.; grandchildren, Melissa Welch, Sara H. Kennedy and husband, Jeff, and Michael and Mark Douglas Hatcher; five great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy L. Revere; brother, the Rev. Dargan Lucas; special niece, Eunice Wilt and husband, James; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Jay Fields. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Botetourt County. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
