I cannot believe it has been 10 years since the passing of this wonderful man. This only goes to show that Life goes by in an instant and to live it to its fullest. Steve was so proud of his family and relationships and lived his life to the fullest. I hope his family is doing well and take comfort in the memories of this great man.

Steve was like an older brother to me growing up, though he was my uncle. i guess we were six years apart. He lived upstairs and we had one of the downstairs apartments in Jersey City, tight quarters but we did not know it. As i grew older we became friends. i am going to miss him an awful lot.

To the Hauck Family--I send my sincere condolences. Steve was an amazing man. I had the opportunity to work with Steve on the Kroger Team and drew great inspiration from his passion to win and committment to excellence. He was a CHARACTER with an uncanny ability to bring everyone along with him and make everything more fun. He took care of our team and our customer.
Steve was also incredibly devoted and proud of his family. Everyone who worked with Steve felt like we knew all of you.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I know there is another angel in heaven looking down on all of us. With Sympathy,

Always a story... Always a smile... Always a friend when you needed an ear.
Steve was one of the first people I bonded with when I came to P&G. It was amazing to work with him and watch his mastery in action with customers. He was one of a kind! I will miss him dearly.

Sue, Michelle and Tom -
I am so sad to hear of Steve's passing, but I know that he was tired. Steve was an incredible man, one of those people that just stays with you. We have not worked together in a number of years, but my memories of him are so vivid. He was a fantastic storyteller - I have laughed until I cried many times. He had just enough sarcasm to make anything funny. He was a fine salesman, who drew respect from his coworkers and his customers. I learned a lot from Steve as a young P&Ger. He loved you all fiercely, and talked about you constantly. I feel very fortunate to have known Steve. He was a great man, and he will always be special to me. I send you all my love, thoughts and prayers.

Steve was a "real man" with his priorities in order. He was so proud of his family. He was a patriot having served in the Army, we had that in common. When I was a basic training Company Commander at Ft. Knox Kentucky after returning from Vietnam in 1969-1972, Steve was the reception Center Company Commander where I would pick up my new recruits. Who would have guessed that we would work together at P&G all those years later. Steve was the best "peddler" I have ever known. That is a real compliment. He also had the best account penetration of any P&G person I have ever worked with calling on Kroger. He was the best. I loved the time we worked together. Steve always made everything fun.
I will live the rest of my life thinking of Steve and hoping I am worthy to end up in heaven with him. I wonder if my stomach will ache from laughing so much in heaven?
Love you Steve

Steve was my best friend and I miss him a lot. We talked seven days a week about everything from growing tomatoes to selling Tide. It was typical to get a call from Steve when he and Jack were out walking or when he was in the middle of a project. Steve made work so much more fun as a partner!

Steve was a special and unique person. I met him 20 years ago when I joined P&G when he was working on the SuperValu team. He always made me laugh and had a good ole joke to tell me. Years later I joined the P&G Kroger team and there I got to work again with Steve. It was good to work with him and take in all his knowledge with a tweek of his sense of humor. God is gaining a wonderful Angel.

To the family of Captain Hauck:
Thank you for allowing us to be an intetgral part of Steve's life over the past year. While he thought he was leaving his P&G family behind as he went into retirement, we just couldn't let him go! I realized recently why. It was the "Hauck Stories" we had come to love that we couldn't live without.
He was so proud of each of you and no surprise, always had a story....
-Michelle is fluent in French and married a REAL rocket scientist.
-Tom is a chef at Pigall's in Cinti and has a real passion for Fender Stratocaster guitars.
-Jack stories each week quickly earned him wallpaper status on Pop's laptop.
-Sue and Steve's weekend getaways and various trips taken and the encounters along the way, always brought a smile.
We will miss the stories from Steve, so I ask that you keep us up to date just like Pop did. His "unique" sense of humor, his love for his family and friends was so evident. He will be missed.
I know at some point, I will have the opportunity to "talk soon" with him once again.
God Bless,
Tro

Steve was a great friend. When I was transferred to P&G's Kroger Team late in my P&G career, Steve was the person who went out of his way to explain things to me and make me feel at home. I will never forget that. We talked often about family as well, and it was obvious how much he loved them. Even after my retirement, Steve and I stayed in touch. I will miss Steve, and am confident that he is making even more friends now as part of his reward.

Sue, Michele, Tom and Family- Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. The world lost a hero last Friday, a good friend to so many, a proud husband and father. I never met anyone so unselfish and more caring. Even when he was in pain and suffering, he was so quick to tell others to have a good time and was so happy for them. Steve found humor in every situation. Touching Lives- Improving Life is so true of Steve. You have so many wonderful memories of him and so do his many friends. What this world lost last Friday, Heaven gained. God Bless. Linda Victoria

Steve was such a positive roll model for P&G and any of his customers he came into contact. You were an inspiration to me, teaching me what it means to take ownership in my stores. I continue to this day to take ownership and will always remember your great words of wisdom. Steve will be greatly missed, but I have wonderful memories that will keep his legacy alive. Thanks for always being there.

My prayers are with Steve's family and friends as they endure the pain of losing him. His magnetic personality was one that would leave a lasting impression on all who met him. I enjoy hearing the stories about Steve from my husband and remembering the times we were around each other as well. The void will be everpresent.
