Effie Creasy Bramlett

Effie Creasy Bramlett, 82, of Thaxton, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sunday, July 3, 1927, in Bedford Co., a daughter of the late Asa Gilbert Creasy and Reva May Burnett Creasy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Bramlett; two brothers, Asa Gilbert (A. G.) Creasy Jr., Calvin Carlton (Bud) Creasy; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Bramlett. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Rubin Wayne Bramlett, of Thaxton, Norris Elroy Bramlett, of Vinton; a sister, Ozella Ashwell, of Huddleston; three grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Bramlett Family Cemetery. Friends may call Monday after 2 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
