Tim, Jo Ann, Colleen and to the rest of Alex's family, my heart and prayers go out to you at this most difficult time. My words are not adequate enough to express the sorrow I feel for your loss. Alex was an inspiration to everyone around him. I am so blessed and lucky to have known his beauty. Alex was always full of energy and he was always there for his friends and family. It's just seems unreal to think that he's gone. I really miss him and will hold a special place in my heart for him forever.

RIP Alex
Life is so beautiful and precious just like your son. When God calls our children home, we as parents can't understand why except we know they belonged to God first. We didn't know your son except through Friends. You must be so proud of his accomplishments in the brief time he had here on earth. May your faith in God give you the strength and comfort you need in the days ahead. We will see our children again, until then God bless you and keep you in his loving arms.

I was so honored to meet Alex a few years ago, a young man with so much to offer. Despite his short life, he made a difference in eveyone's life, treating those he knew with respect. My heart goes out to his family and friends, all of whom were inspired by Alex over the years. As a father of a son with Aspergers, Alex's death really touched him, and taught how fragile life can be. If you wake up each day, make it count, for you never know if it will be your last on earth. May Alex rest in peace, he'll be remembered. Capt. Tom Conroy

Tim & Jo-Ann, Joan & Coleen, we here at St. Luke Catholic Church (Fr. Sal's previous Parish) in Virginia Beach want to send our deepest condolences and our ongoing prayers for Alex and for your entire family. We offered a Mass last Tuesday when after Fr. Sal told me he was missing and his and your names were placed in our Adoration Chapel. This week the Sanctuary Lamp is burning for the repose of the Soul of Alex and for your entire family.
I myself remembering meeting Alex one day when I was visiting Fr. Sal and talking with him to Tim about the radio station and the possibility of Radio Show for Fr. Sal.
Be assured that Alex and your family are in the prayers of myself, my family, our parish Staff, our current Pastor-Fr. Silvio Kaberia and the entire parish. God Bless.

We pray that God will comfort you and give you strength to get through. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts. I have followed this story from the first day I heard about Alex's disappearance. I did not know him personally although my niece graduated with him and talked highly of him from what she knew. I prayed that he had just pulled a typical teenage prank and ran off with a friend. I have driven Airport Road so many times but now it will never be the same. I wish there was one thing that could take away your pain and one moment that would bring Alex back, but we have to be grateful that he is finally home. . .to the home that we all want to go to one day. You will be reunited with him again. God Bless you and keep you strong for he sounds to be a son that any mother would be proud to have. I hope my son turns out to be just half the man your son was.

Eternal Light
Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight... Must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light. But we know that like a candle their lovely light will surely shine to brighten up another place more perfect... more divine. And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright. Our loved ones live forevermore in God’s eternal light.

Dear Ernandes Family:
The loss of a child is unimaginable. We can only tell you that God will be there for you and you will be comforted. There are a lot of people in the area who don't know you, but grieve with you.
Alex's time on earth may have been brief, but it's not the length of time that is important; it's what one does with the time. He's got his wings.
May God continue to bless you and guide your lives.
