Mariam Crance Ferguson

Mariam Crance Ferguson, 81, of Wirtz, Va., died Sunday, May 30, 2010, in Franklin Memorial Hospital. She was born December 17, 1928, in Hinton, W.Va., daughter of the late Francis Marion Crance and Clarice Lorraine Seldomridge Crance. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomasson Ferguson Sr.; one brother, Francis Marion Crance Jr. Mariam was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the choir. Mariam is survived by her three children, Deborah Lorraine Bowman and her husband, Miles, of Broomall, Pa., Floyd Thomasson Ferguson Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Richmond and Robert Carson Ferguson and his wife, Cindy, of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren, Daniel Miles Bowman, Melanie Lorraine Shifflett and her husband, Geoffrey, David Clarence Bowman and his wife, Katie, Benjamin Estes Bowman, Taylor Crance Ferguson, Matthew Howle Ferguson, Audrey Chase Ferguson, Carson Elizabeth Ferguson and Gabriel Wyatt Ferguson; one great-grandchild, Zachary Evan Shifflett; one brother, Nelson Lura Crance and his wife, Celine, of Grand Cayman Island; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Mariam's life will be conducted 5 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Chapel Bedford with the Rev. David W. Lord officiating.
