Agnes Bratton Lugar

Agnes Bratton Lugar, 78, of Vinton, Va., passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, after a courageous battle with a multitude of health issues. She was preceded by her father, George Dewey Bratton and mother, Lillian Greta, stepmother, Ola Bratton; brothers, George Jr., Sammy and Frank Bratton and a sister, Peggy LaRue. Mrs. Lugar enjoyed traveling, reading, bingo and was a avid bowler but mostly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and will be truly missed by all. Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Bobby E. Lugar; sons, Steve Lugar and wife, Becky, Vinton, Danny Lugar and wife, Mary, Blue Ridge, Kirk Lugar and wife, Jill, Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Judy Lugar, Roanoke; grandchildren, Russell, Stefanie, Tamara, Kimberly, Kara, Ashley, Mandy, Kirsten, Brianna; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Hayate, Danielle, Akashi, Dylan; brother, Tommy Bratton; sister, Rachael Hogan, (sister) Francis Phlegar and a host of other relatives and friends. Family would like to thank the staff on 10 Mtn. P.C.U. for their care and support during this time. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A service celebrating Mrs. Lugar's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in the Simpson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles Doyle officiating.
