Carol Edwards Obituary

Carol Marie Edwards, 63, of Curve Road in Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday morning, May 22, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born in Pembroke on September 21, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Sam Williams and Ruby Cumbee Williams Cook. She had worked as cash and customer relations manager for Talheimers, Dillards, Harris Publishers and several other business houses through the years. She was a 1964 graduate of Giles High School, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Pembroke. Her brothers, Lee and Grady Williams preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Oliver N. Edwards; her sons, Jeff Wood and wife, Marcia, of Virginia Beach, Jonathan Wood and wife, Lori, of Chesapeake; her daughter, Bridget Winston and husband, York, of Chesapeake; her five grandchildren; her sisters, Elsie Williams, of Pearisburg, Sylvia Johnson, of Pembroke, Barbara Heathcoat, of Decatur, Tenn. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday at 12 noon in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
