Dorothy Harrell Obituary

July 14, 1929 ~ April 27, 2010 Dorothy Ann Brickey Harrell, 80, of Max Meadows, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. She was married for 60 years to James Stephen Eugene Harrell who predeceased Dorothy on August 3, 2008. They moved throughout the state with Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation having lived in Pulaski, Roanoke, Salem, Shenandoah, Virginia Beach and finally coming home to the Harrell family farm to retire. Dorothy was a dedicated Christian woman and a member of the Church of God. She touched the hearts of all who knew her by her gentle loving, serving spirit and caring ways. Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael Steven Harrell, Deborah Sue Harrell Soblotne Dunford and husband, Richard Dunford, Sherry Jane Harrell Chriswell Nalley and Linda Diane Harrell Yoder and husband, Earl. She is also survived by her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat-grandchild. Michael's family: Jonathan Harrell, wife, Kristin, and children, Katie and Josh, Jeremy Harrell, wife, Bryony and children, Jynna and Isobelle, Justin Harrell. Linda's family: Melissa Yoder, Mary Yoder Cook and husband, John, and children, Allison and Patrick, Timothy Yoder and wife, Meghan, James Yoder, wife, Raleigh, and children, Lillian and Linus. She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Brickey Corbett, of South Carolina. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Glen Roy (Bud) Brickey, of North Carolina and Florida, Tommy L. Brickey, of Florida, Robert E. (Bobby) Brickey, of Dublin, Va., Helen Brickey Manning and Mary (Jane) Brickey Newman, of Pulaski, Va. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Cope, Pastor of Word of Life Ministries, officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
