George McAfee Frye II obituary

George Frye Obituary

In our loneliness and struggle to continue our lives without Max, we are humbled by the caring, love and prayers of hundreds of friends who showed so many acts of kindness. The cards with the personal notes of reflections about Max's kindness and politeness have meant so much. Our sincerest thanks to the Franklin Heights Baptist Church family: Pastor Mark Griffith; pianist, Dee Ann White; and instrumentalists and vocalists, Deborah Richardson and Gene Parker. We are also grateful for the lovely reception.
Our lives have been changed forever under difficult and heart wrenching circumstances, but we are comforted in knowing that our Saviour Jesus Christ is with us.
Max was loving, caring and kind-hearted. The love he had for his daughter Halee, his parents and family was the greatest of all.
Christmas with the family was a favorite time for Max when we would gather for food and games. Birthday celebrations at Kabuki and Outback were always special. Max and his cousin Stephanie celebrated their 40th birthday in February at Kabuki with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and loved funny movies. Max was an avid college football fan, VA Tech being his favorite. Max always liked seeing the deer and wild turkey in the big field beside our home. He wasn't a hunter but appreciated the sport his many friends enjoyed.
We thank God for Max's life and will love and miss him forever.
Somewhere, under a bluer sky,
In a higher realm than where eagles fly,
In a land of beauty beyond our knowing,
With trees and flowers and waters flowing,
And mountains of unearthly grace,
Our loving Lord has made a place...
And one day, through an opening door,
We find that glorious evermore.
Esther York Burkholder
Sincerely and with love,
George, Linda and Halee

There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of Max and how precious he was to us. George, Linda and Halee, as bad as I hurt over the loss of our precious Max, I can't imagine the pain you must feel, and how hard it must be to continue on each day. My love and prayers surround you in this tragic time. Keep remembering his smile and the fun we had with him until we meet again.
Love,
Cousin Debbie

My dear sweet nephew, and my friend, Max,
There are no words to tell you the pain
we all feel in our heats, and the longing
we have to see your beautiful smile again. I do believe with all my heart
that to be absent from the body is to be
in the presence of God. So, until then,
when we will all understand this by and
by, you will always be in our hearts, and
our love will never die. We will miss you every day until we see you again!!
I love you Max! Love, Aunt Donna

Max, you were so loved by your family and so many friends.
We will miss you at Kabuki when we celebrate birthdays and especially at Christmas when we had so much fun passing the ornament and exchanging funny gifts that we could take from each other if we liked another gift better.
I pray that God will help us to go on and not miss you so much until we will join you in not too many years. I know that God has one more angel in heaven today.

George & Linda,

God hath not promised
Skies always bue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.

Buth God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy
Undying love.

Sincerely with Love and Prayers,

Dear Linda and George,
It is hard to know what to say at this sad time, but I want you to know that I am so sorry about your great loss.
Sometimes we wonder why things like this happen. I don't have the answers, but I do know this much --- God won't let you go through this alone. He'll give you the courage to carry on, the strength to handle what ever comes and He will be with you thru it all.
God's grace is sufficient to ease the pain and wipe away all the tears.
In love there is no parting. Love lies on beyond the grave. All you have to do is hold onto the precious memories you have of him.
May God Bless You and hold you tight in His loving arms and may He comfort you with love is my prayer.

Max, I know you loved Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones. I know in my heart and pray that you have found the shelter of God's loving arms and that you have been given the peace of mind you always craved and deserved. I will miss driving up and finding a cherry pie on my doorstep and I thank you for all the cherry pies you brought me, for all the love you showed me and for sharing your life and precious daughter with me.

To Max's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Max was a great person. He was always happy go lucky. He will be missed by many. I will never forget many many years ago at Brookside that him and some more was going to walk to D.Q. and I was younger and my mom wouldn't let me go with them and they all left to go there and when they came back, Max brought me an order of fries back cause he knew I was upset that I couldn't go with them, that was the type of guy that Max was, kinda and always there to help. Rest in peace Max cause you may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Some of the most hilarious things I ever heard Max told me. Ricky & I both send out our deepest condolences. It is such a shock for us all.
