Gold Davis Obituary

Gold Robert Davis, 81, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on July 12, 1928 to the late James Washington and Julina Hall Davis. He was preceded in death by one sister, Chloe Allen, five brothers, John Henry, Walter, Cleve, Daniel and Everette Davis. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Womack, of Check; several special nieces and nephews; two special cousins, Ocie Trail and Lucille Pendleton. Gold cherished his family and many friends as well as visiting local churches and homecomings. The family wishes to Thank Dr. Adin Putnam and nurses on the 4th floor ICU at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2p.m. in the Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd and the Rev. Steve Akers officiating. Interment will follow in the Halls Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
