Helen Pauline McMillan

Helen Pauline McMillan, 84, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010. She was born in Carroll County, Va. on November 10, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Homer and Verlie White. Helen loved being at home with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Mac" McMillan and sister, Violet Spangler. She is survived by her sons, Ronald C. McMillan and wife, Karen and Jerry L. McMillan and wife, Angie; brothers, Benny White and wife, Shirley and Billy White and wife, Sue; sisters, Anna Ruth Sharpe and Lola Droudes; and five grandchildren, Eric McMillan, Annie Kistner, Patrick McMillan, Alyson McMillan, and Evan McMillan. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, with Pastor Art Hearne officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, May 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The McMillan family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, (540) 389-5441.
